gazebo roof Explained
By Maryono Idries
Got a plan to to build a gazebo ? It is basically just like if you want to build a normal house. Of course it would have a roof. There are severals type of
gazebo roof . It can be regular i.e. square or hip roof. Most popular is design like Pagoda. A hip roof is the four sides of it are pitched inward and the peak of the roof is exactly in the
center of your gazebo .
The type of gazebo roof will not be the same for each gazebo.
It depends on where it is located. For example if you live in a four seasons country. You should remove bracing further up to make your
gazebo roof looks more attractive. It has a typical problem to do as the rules of thumb for sizing rafters become shorter when the bracing is removed or if you locate it higher. This problem will more true when you
build a gazebo in a country that gets snow. So that you should learn and be alert of how to properly size your gazebo roof's rafters and the wall headers.
All gazebo roof needs a frame. The frame does not have a center support post to hold up the peak of your
gazebo roof . That is the point where all of the rafters come together. Actually, a support post is needed to prevent
the weight on your gazebo rafters from splaying out the tops of the gazebo walls. And to distribute the static and dynamic loads of the whole structure evenly.
If you want to
design a Gazebo Roof , you should be ready with or at least try to learn about the construction details. It will need to have an uncluttered look of your gazebo roof. A gazebo roof can be made from a lot of materials from siding to shingles to shakes. The six-hub or eight-hub style are
the most traditional roof . The top of your gazebo roof will secure the rafters. You can build your gazebo roof by far the most difficult part.
