gazebo top At A Glance
To make a
gazebo top you have to have three wood rafters for the upper and lower edges. The opposed sides inclined and radially disposed. You have to arrange the upper ends close to each other and their longitudinal axes substantially intersectic in a common point. You have to construct the first gazebo top connector from a single
element sheet metal member.
A gazebo usually has 4 to 8 sides, but the 5 and 6 sides are the most common form. But there is a problem when you build it, a five or six sided structure will create a problem in joining the rafters at their upper ends. You have to join the top ends of
the gazebo rafters with nails. The result has to be a precise angle bevel cuts. A weak joint due to
splitting of the wood unless the nailing is very precisely executed. You will face that problem if you
build your gazebo by yourself.
A single metal member usually use as a connector for your gazebo rafters. It stamped to form indentations for the receipt of rafters. The
gazebo top connection of the present invention provides a structurally sound connection for the top ends of a plurality of wood rafters used in constructing
the roof of a gazebo .
A single piece of
gazebo top connector not only serves to securely connect the rafters to one another, but also serves as a jig so that the top ends of the rafters are evenly radially spaced and form a uniformly even polyhedral shape.
The gazebo top connector may be fastened to the wood rafters with either nails or screws. A gazebo may be constructed in which the
roof of the gazebo may contain rafters of different pitch by merely field bending the arms of the gazebo top connector to different angles.
